Google Adwords – Costs, Pros and Cons

Google offers some really cool tools and the one I am suggesting below is certainly no different. Once you have entered the Keywords you are considering a bid  on,  The Google Adwords Traffic Estimator  returns data like “local monthly searches” for that keyword or phrase. An estimated CPC (Cost Per Click), the estimated daily clicks and the estimated daily cost.

For example, for the search term “Real Estate Perth” the tool returned data that stated it attracts around 18,100 local searches on google per month, the estimated CPC is $1.00 per click and with an estimated daily click rate of 14 the campaign will cost me around $14.00 per day.

So is this a worthwhile investment for your real estate office? I believe there are pros and cons, these being:

Pros:

  • Targeted Audience
  • Set a maximum daily budgets for clicks
  • You can point adds directly at a property listing page on your website

Cons:

  • Clicks to view property do not automatically mean an enquiry
  • The $ add up quite quickly for several keyword campaigns
  • Localalized searches offer a very low click through rates
